With Forzando and the iPad, you can now take your entire sheet music library with you wherever you go!

Forzando is a PDF viewer and MP3 player designed especially for viewing sheet music on the iPad. Using the free, companion desktop application, you can organize your sheet music library, associate MP3 files with your scores, and transfer PDFs and MP3s to Forzando on your iPad.*

Forzando facilitates musical rehearsals and performances, keeping all your scores together and organized. It also includes a 13-note musical keyboard simulator to help find pitches and a markup palette to make your own musical annotations.

* The companion application is required to place content into Forzando. Without it, Forzando cannot obtain any PDFs or MP3s. The companion application is written in Java and requires JRE 1.6 running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (or better), Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 or later. A wireless network and Bonjour are also required for synchronization without iTunes document sharing. If you use iTunes document sharing, you can export the entire music library from the companion application to a folder and add the folder's contents to Forzando's shared documents in iTunes, eliminating the need for wireless synchronization.

The companion application is available at www.drakeapplications.com/Downloads.

(Choose Forzando Installer)

Forzando lets you:

- Select a score to view from your collections or from the entire list of scores.

- Playback an audio file if one is associated with the PDF.

- Listen to sequences of notes or grab pitches with the 13-note musical keyboard.

- Annotate scores in multiple colors and layers with or without the Apple Pencil.

The companion application lets you:

- Import PDFs into your music library.

- Associate an MP3 or M4A file with any PDF.

- Organize scores into collections (similar to play lists).

- Select collections to synchronize with Forzando.

- Export the music library to a folder for document sharing with iTunes

What's New in Version 2.1

- Annotations
- Support for Apple Pencil
- Various user interface improvements

Now with version 2.1, you can add your own rehearsal notes, mark your part, even white out a block of notes with Forzando annotations. Annotations give you five independent layers of markup on top of your PDFs and convenient implements and drawing modes to write in anything you want. Choose the pencil for a textured markup, the marker for a bold reminder, the highlighter to highlight your line, or the white out to incorporate those minor changes the director wants to make. Drawing modes include free-form (pressure sensitive with Apple Pencil), 4-point fill, and 4-point line.

Finally after help from the support I got files synced. It is a handsome app and there are good qualities to it. The biggest problem I see now is the pages don't flip they scroll. It is basically a singers app not a musicians app. By the end of the year the foot pedal page turner will be on the market and I can't see it working at all with this app. It will take redesigning the app.

Good idea. Implementation is bare bones.

I was hoping for a little more from this app. It does what the description offers and no more. Hence, while it does provide a keyboard, the octave is not adjustable. Hence, attempting to sound out passages that cross an octave break takes auditory imagination.

Works Great for me....

I am a solo working musician. My show consists of playing along with sequenced songs. I used to use a rack mounted mp3 player with a remote. I also had a lyric book. Too much clutter.. I knew when the iPad came out there would be an app that incorporated both lyrics and mp3's. I have 100 pages of pdf lyrics imported and music to go along with them. Bingo..... This app is perfect. Easy to use!..
